Fawkner Penthouse, St Kilda

Situated on the 19th floor and literally on the roof of the building, this garden needed a lot of consideration as it is exposed to all the elements mainly being the wind! The plant selection was critical, as were the large pebbles placed over the garden surface to ensure it didn’t all blow away. We used a modular system for the planter boxes to join them all together, giving the main area as impression of one large garden bed. A large shallow feature bowl filled with native grasses, buxus balls of varying sizes and low growing jasmine formed the eye-catching centrepiece of the main garden area.
